Here’s how child secretaries describe their role… “The role of the child’s social secretary is unique. The child's needs are at the core of all our work, and as a child secretary, you create sustainable relationships with foster-placed children as well as their networks. The best part of being a child secretary is that we get to follow the placed children and their development over time and be there both when it’s tough and when things are going well, which is most of the time! In all matters concerning the child, the child secretary is the one who ensures that the child's voice is heard, which is challenging but also developing. Our work is both varied and important!”
